WHERE THE KING JAMES GOT IT WRONG!
Before you kill me, the disclaimer: I like the King James version. I use the King James version. It is my prefered English language version. However, there are some poor, bad, or mis translations throughout its pages. This version is public domain and anyone can publish it. I would hope publishers would take out known, glaring errors out of reprinted editions. I will be adding to this page from time to time.
Mat 27:9 "Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that
was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;"
The problem with this is that Jeremiah never said anything like this! Zechariah did in 11:12-13. The word Jeremy or Jeremiah is not in this verse in any of the oldest manuscripts we have. It does not appear until many centuries later. Most think that an overzealous copier inserted the name. At any rate, it's the wrong name!
More to come.
