The chart below came about many years ago when I was teaching through the book of Revelation. The wording of verse 3 in chapter 4 seemed weird to me. Describing God as a jasper and sardine stone surrounded by an emerald. Then I remembered the High priest's ephod had these gems. I began to map out the gems and corresponding tribes. I added a little more info, and this chart is what I came up with. Co-incidentally, Rev. 4:3 is including all the tribes of Israel because the sardine and jasper stones represent the first and last son of Jacob(the father of the twelve sons/families). The emerald encompassing the throne was from the tribe of Judah-from which Jesus came. Here's how to read the chart: On top of the square there will be 1 or 2 verses pertaining to the gem. Inside the square will be the gem's name, tribe, matriarch (though only the tribe name was on the actual gem in the ephod the priest wore.) To the left is the color of the gem. To the right is the meaning of the son's(tribe's) name-which please pay attention to. They point to Jesus. Underneath each square are references to that family(son).Enjoy the chart and find many uses for study with it! Thanx to my bro for all his help.
