JESUS AND BOAZ
It has been said by many that Jesus is a kinsman redeemer after the example or foreshadowing of Boaz. This is preposterous! Though Boaz was a kinsman redeemer and though Jesus is a kinsman redeemer, there is where the similarities cease. Let's look at what the Bible says and put what we've heard all this time aside. The Bible as written is our authority. The manipulation of the Bible by many preachers has no authority. Side note. I wonder why Jesus is never linked to other kinsman redeemers? Here is a comparison chart of Jesus and Boaz as kinsman redeemers and why Jesus is nothing like Boaz.
BOAZ'S ACTIONS AS KINSMAN REDEEMER
Boaz tells Ruth there is a closer kinsman than he. Ruth 3:12 Boaz gives another the chance to be a kinsman redeemer to Ruth. JESUS' ACTIONS AS KINSMAN REDEEMER
There is no closer kinsman than Jesus. Jesus never gave anyone else the opportunity to redeem us. Jesus never took council with a group to work out a deal. As stated before, Jesus never gave anyone else 1st crack at redeeming us. There could not have been another anyway. Jesus has always been our redeemer since before the foundation of the world. We were purchased by the blood of Christ. Fruit of Jesus redemption came by resurrection. Jesus became a curse for us in order to redeem us. Gal. 3:13 |
