Duck tape? Super glue? How 'bout 3 nails and love! Fixed everything!
Another difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament is this. In the Old, sin was covered by the blood and man left the tabernacle. In the New, man is covered by the blood and sin must leave!! Sin was nailed to the cross. Three nails were used. Not because they were afraid Jesus would escape(after all, He put Himself on the cross. He wasn't going anywhere! His love for you and I was, is, too great) but because John tells us there are three categories for sin and they all had to be nailed to the cross!
1 Jn. 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
So for the first nail, it is for the lust of the flesh. The devil himself tried to capitalize on this by tempting Jesus to turn stones to bread after fasting for forty days. Mt. 4:1-3. Jesus certainly could have done this. After all, He is our Rock and He created the very stones in view. It would have been no great feat for Him to turn them into bread. There will be at least two instances in the future when He will make bread.
